When you wanna party on Division Street, you naturally think of The Original Mother's. Since 1968 Mothers has been a Chicago favorite whether it's Live Music, dancing til you can't stand, or singing karaoke til your throat hurts, Mothers has got what you need. From its earliest days hosting bands such as Chicago, Cream, The Mekons, and The Velvet Underground to nursing House Music out of its diapers, Mothers has firmly established itself as The Home of Performance in the Gold Coast. Through a history of globally famous events such as The Money Grab and National Lip Sync Night, as well as hosting Mr. & Mrs. Division Street, many up and coming performers have sharpened their chops on Mothers stage and dance floor. Mothers continues this tradition today with events such as ElvisFest, Indie Incubator Film Fest, Oscars Night, and select Live Music nights. Featured in many movies but immortalized in the 1986 classic About Last Night, featuring Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, James Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins. Mothers continues today as a place you can chill while sharing a spirit or a game of pool with the stars (REO SPEEDWAGON RECENTLY VISITS MOTHERS).
Mother's features a huge dance floor, a killer sound system, and private party space for gatherings of 25-600 partiers, and Party Packages that'll make your wallet happy!

Perhaps one of Chicago' lesser known history lessons is that right in the heart of Division Street, what we traditionally think of as a dancing and night club scene, there was a big rock venue. The Original Mothers has come a long way since bands like Cream (yes with Clapton), The Velvet Underground, and Shaka Kahn played there.Today she is getting back to her roots. Recently we've had some big name acts to try to set the bar such as Ivan Neville of the Neville Brothers. A series of shows called All Axxess Wednesdays hosted Nick Olivari (of Queens of the Stone Age fame), Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Catfight, Libido Funk Circus, Elevation (famous U2 tribute act) and many local performers. Bringing rock-n-roll back to the strip has never sounded so good.
